Strava League

Strava

So what’s it all about????

The ever popular CCC Strava league sees an exciting new team format for 2019.
This is an attempt to get more people involved, make it more craic and stop Gary from winning everything. This will run in parallel to the normal individual competition that we have had for the last few years

Key points –
Following a fantastic response we have 8 teams of 4 riders.

Each team will have a captain.
Teams were selected using a complex ‘fairness’ algorithm on the research cluster at the Queen’s University High Performance Computing centre (honest)….

The league will be shortened to 5 months April to August

There will be 3 segments each month – a sprint, a climb and a TT. They will all be close to Crossgar and easy to get to.

Scoring will be in a similar format to last year except there will be a total of 35 points available for each segment
i.e. 35 points for 1st, 34 for 2nd etc. This is to ensure that every members score will count towards the team total for the month. If a rider doesn’t post a time then the team loses out.

An individual competition will run in parallel.

All other rules stay this same
– segments will be posted before the start of the month
– it should be an honest individual effort – you can ride the segments as many times as you like during the month
– rides must be posted in strava and you should join the strava CCC club
– results will be copied from strava on the last day of the month, collated by us and posted on facebook and the website.

Good luck and stay safe!
